We recently attended our annual conference with Financial Wisdom. This years event was in Hobart and while we didn’t get the chance to explore the city and surrounds too much, it certainly looks like a great place to visit. The food was great and the weather throughout our stay was pleasant, although it was quite cold on the final night!
The conference gave us a chance to catch up with other advisers and businesses throughout the country and gain insights into their businesses with the overall theme to connect and share ideas, which worked well. We also heard from a variety of guest speakers keeping us up to date with the latest trends in technology and also economic themes. We have gathered plenty of information from this conference and hope to utilise the relevant ideas within our business to continue to improve our operations and also the services we provide.
During the conference various awards are decided and this year we were nominated for three awards. As you may recall we have been award winners in the past, on both a state and national level, so to be nominated again is a great achievement for us. Our nominations were for Women and Financial Planning, Quality Recognition and Practice of the Year. Megan has been the driving force behind the Women and Financial Planning nomination and has been doing a great job improving the level of confidence and understanding of financial matters for women in our community. Quality Recognition is an award we won last year and we were nominated again this year. This reflects our strong approach and adherence to compliance guidelines and overall quality of advice.
We are pleased to announce that this year we were awarded Practice of the Year for Queensland. While we missed out on the national awards we are very proud to have been awarded the honour of best practice in Queensland in only our third year of operation. It has been a busy year for the business where more foundations have been put in place to help us continue to grow and service our clients to the best of our ability. All areas of the business have been doing well throughout the year and with some new initiatives started, as outlined above, and plenty of client referrals coming though, it has certainly kept us busy.
Our Practice Development Manager, Geoff Steele, has been kind enough to provide some of his thoughts around our recent win:
What impresses me most about Rowland Financial Advisory is how proactive they have been in developing the strategic direction of the practice. Running a business is challenging and here they have embraced the responsibility of making important decisions early on that will position the practice for success over the long term.
The team have been very proactive in engaging their client base and also the local community in providing a series of events that include, annual client nights, public educational seminars and expo’s and the promotion of women and financial advice at the inaugural ‘Let’s think financial Security for Women’ event in August. Educating and highlighting the financial hurdles women typically face and the need to seek good quality advice was certainly well received.
Michael and the team have built a solid reputation for providing quality advice and service to their clients across both their client base as well as the licensee.
Congratulations Rowland Financial Advisory in being awarded the Practice of the year QLD 2016.
Of course without our clients we wouldn’t be in a position to win these sorts of accolades and we thank you very much for your support over the years. We continue to work on the business and look forward to catching up with as many of you as possible at our client night in the new year. Invitations will be sent out in due course and we are currently getting together a strong line up for next years event, so we hope to see you there to continue to share information with you and to share a drink or two as well to celebrate our recent win.
