Annual Client Night - Wrap Up

We held our third annual client night recently and it was a pleasure to spend some time with those of you who were able to attend.  For those who couldn't make it we hope to see you there next time.  Feedback received was very positive but we continue to look for ways to improve our nights to make them more valuable for you all in the future.  A big thank you to our support staff as well for organising and running the event on the night as well.


First up, we heard from Noel Whittaker, where he gave us some insight as to his thoughts around the upcoming federal budget and as usual there is plenty being thrown around from both sides of politics at the moment.  Only time will tell what actually gets included when the budget is handed down, but as we have learnt from Noel over the years, changes will continue to occur and the power of having a sound strategy in place, that suits your needs and circumstances, will set you on the best possible path.  Noel also outlined some books on the night that would be well worth a read.  One of our loyal clients tells us they are easy to locate through the online channels and are also available in good bookstores.  They are as follows:

  • Eat to Cheat Ageing
  • The Telomerase Revolution


We were also pleased to give you an update on our business.  It has been almost three years now since Rowland Financial Advisory was formed and we are very pleased with the progress we are making.  We have had articles featured in local magazines, have launched community based seminars aimed at improving financial literacy and understanding within the community, and have also won several awards along the way.  Of course we need great clients to be able to be in this position and your ongoing support is very much appreciated.  Part of our growth enabled us to employ a new adviser, Megan Knowles.  Many of you have met Megan and she has been a great addition to our team.  As we mentioned on the night, we wish to continue to grow and have the capacity to take on more clients.  We discussed the types of clients that we may be able to help and in reality they are very similar to you.  However, you may also have family members or friends in different generations where sound financial advice could be invaluable for their future wealth accumulation and retirement dreams.  If you feel as though we may be able to help we simply ask for an introduction and we can take it from there.


Lastly we heard from Matt Ryland from Greencape Capital.  Feedback on Matt's presentation was terrific and it's great to see that he was very well received - we could possibly still be there getting information from Matt about the way they decide what companies to invest in!  The insight he provided on the night and that we have come to expect from him over the years is highly valued by us and we continue to utilise their investment in our portfolios where appropriate.  We continue to look for speakers of Matt's calibre and experience for future events so that we can continue to showcase the strength of the investment managers and professionals that we utilise when constructing your portfolios.
